The Pygmy Jerboa is a hopping desert rodent that is typically found in China, Manchuria and Northern Africa in hot desert climates. While adorable, these animals are also quick and can run very fast which helps them when they are being hunted. They are often prey for birds, like Little Owls. Jerboa fur is usually the color of sand, helping them to blend into their desert environment. Some species of the jerboa family have long ears while others have short ears.
